September 2026: the first ranking snapshot

The register now takes a snapshot on the first day of every month — the hundred studios with the highest reach in the world and the top ten in each of 123 countries. Here is what the first one shows.

Reach is the number we compute: the Domain Rating of a studio's own site plus the Domain Rating of every site we have recorded as built by it. A studio rises by what it built, not by what its own homepage says — which is the right way round for a register of people who build for others.

What the first snapshot shows

At the top of the world stands Keeo with a reach of 2 156 across 51 signed sites, followed by Dobra Strona Parafii (1 236 across 30) and Sponge (893 across 60). None of the three has a remarkable domain of its own; all three are there because of the sites they made.

That is the point of summing. A studio with a modest site that built ten strong ones now outranks a studio with a strong site and nothing behind it. In the previous ordering — by the studio's own Domain Rating alone — the top was occupied by firms with one credited project and a well-linked homepage.

Snapshots are kept, not recomputed

Reach changes with every crawl. If the ranking were computed on demand, a September place would stop being a September place the next morning, and month to month movement would be meaningless. So each snapshot is stored as it stood on the first of the month. From October onwards every entry carries an arrow: how many places it gained or lost since the previous snapshot. This first one says new against every line, because there is honestly nothing to compare it with yet.

Badges

Entering a snapshot earns a badge, and the badge is not a separate thing we award — it is the entry. A studio in the world's hundred carries «Top 100 worldwide»; the first in its country carries its place and the country name. Both link back to the snapshot they came from, so anyone can check the claim.
